Dr. Sumaiya Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Department of Islamic Studies, Aliah University, Kolkata, West Bengal. She joined this reputed university as Assistant Professor in the year 2019. She completed her Ph.D in Islamic Studies from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)  on the research topic “Contribution of Bengal (West Bengal) to Islamic Studies Since 1947” and specialized herself in the fields of Indian History and History of Bengal, Muslim culture and civilization in India, Muslim in Bengal. She has her Research Project on “Contribution of Haji Muhammad Mohsin to Bengali Muslim Education in Contemporary Era”, from Institute of Objective Studies, New Delhi, 2019. She has been engaged in teaching and research in the areas of Islamic sciences, teachings of Islam, Kalam and Taswwuf, Muslim in India, Muslim contribution of art and architecture , Muslim reform movement to have named a few. Dr Sumaiya Ahmed has contributed over more than 20 research papers in national as well as internationally reputed journals from different countries of the world: USA, Netherlands, Indonesia, Turkey, India, Bangladesh. She has also participated in more than twenty-five National and Intentional conferences. She has so far authored two books, a Travelogue in Bengali language namely “Murshidabad er pothe akdin” and Contribution Of Bengali Scholar towards Islamic studies, Dhaka( Bangladesh) ; Merit Fair Prokashon, January 2023.
