Dr. Syed Abdur Rasheed has a specialization in Hadith Sciences with a strong knowledge of History of Tafsir and Muslim’s Contribution to Science in medieval period. He also has good skills of editing of Arabic-Islamic Manuscripts.

Dr. Rasheed came from Madrasa background (2006), completed his bachelor’s degree from Jamia Millia Islamia (New Delhi) with Honours in Arabic Language (2012). He took admission in the department of Islamic studies MANUU, to complete his master’s degree in Islamic Studies (2014). Awarded MANUU Gold Medal for Having Secured First Rank in MA in Islamic Studies (2014). he has completed and awarded his PhD on the topic of “Bayt al Hikmah and its contributions” from the same department in MANUU, Hyderabad.

Dr. Rasheed engaged as guest faculty in the department of Islamic studies MANUU (2014) for a period of more than one year. In February 2019, he joined the Dept. of Islamic Studies in Aliah University, Kolkata as an Asst. Professor. He served the Dept. form May 2019 to June 2021 as Head (Officiating) and chairman of the Board of Studies.
