Department of Nursing Aliah Univeresity is a very new initiative to encourage female education, to help students to acquire basic and sound technical and scientific knowledge and skills in Nursing Profession.
The Department of Nursing established in year 2016 with its 1st batch of B.Sc. Nursing students with 60 annual intake.
It is always our core objective to impart quality knowledge and training to our students to prepare them a good professional as well as citizen of this country and to develop awareness and carry forward their social responsibilities.
The Department of Nursing is affiliated with West Bengal Nursing Council and Indian Nursing Council. It is under the academic control of Aliah University and administrative control of MA&ME Dept. Govt. of West Bengal.
Presently the Department of Nursing has 1 Professor cun HoD, 2 Associate Professors, 2 Assistant Professors and 3 tutors (on contractual basis). 2 Assistant Professors post is vacant for which interview has already been taken place. Also 10 tutors on contractual basis would be taken very soon.
The Department has one office staff, one peon, 3 security, 2 cleaner, one sweeper and two drivers.
The students stay in the hostel at Newtown Campus and vehicle has been provided for bringing them to and fro to attend classes at park Circus campus and clinical at Calcutta National Medical College & Hospital. They also worked in CMRI and BM Birla Heart Research Centre as a part of their clinical experience.
Students also went for community experience in Chetla Urban Health Centre and Nalmuri BPHC, Ghatakpukur.
Students visited Milk Dairy, Dankuni; Water treatment plant, Palta; Sewage treatment Plant; Incinerator, Medicare Howrah; CSSD and kitchen of different hospitals etc.
