The Department of Education, Aliah University was established in 2014 and started its journey from 21, Haji Md Mohsin Square, Kolkata-700016, and in 2017 it was shifted to Park Circus Campus of the University. The department offers two-year B.Ed. programme (NCTE recognised) with an intake capacity of 100 each year. The aim of this programme is to provide opportunities for trainee students to extend as well as deepen their knowledge and understanding of education in any two of the area of specializations in pedagogical subjects such as Language Education (Arabic, Bengali, English, Urdu, & Persian), Mathematics Education, Science Education, and Social Science Education.The Departmentalso offers M.A and Doctoral programmes in Education. The Department has well qualified faculty members and good infrastructural facilities with 7 Resource Centres/Labs and 2 smart classrooms. Department of Education organizes academic activities and extra-curricular activities like celebrating different national days, International Mother Language day, Teachers Day, National Education Day, Sports day, Field trips and other programmes throughout the year. Moreover, Seminars, Workshops, Art & Craft Exhibitions are organized to foster new knowledge among the stakeholders and broaden the horizon of knowledge in the field of Education.
